Inspired by the Empire Podcast

In the last post, we examined the difference between the scarcity mindset and the abundance mindset. We saw the people who live in scarcity see the glass as half empty. To make matters worse, they also see there is no water, and no one would be willing to give them water to fill their glass.

On the other hand, people who live in abundance mindset see the glass as half full.  Additionally, they see many people who would be grateful to be allowed to share water.

Your mindset doesn’t only influence how you see the world. It also affects your attitude, your general disposition, and your energy levels when relating with other people.

If you’re struggling with a scarcity mindset, your life is dominated by three major emotions: anxiety, fear, and stress.

You’re anxious about whether you’re getting money to settle your bills.

You live in fear that you are not enough! You’re continually worrying whether anyone can pay you for your skills!

You’re always stressed since you always see the lack of resources and opportunities.

If you don’t work on switching from the scarcity mentality to an abundance mentality TODAY, you will end up with stress-related physical and psychological ailments.

Today, we’re going to tear down an Empire Podcast by Bedros Keuilian and Craig Ballantyne.

Here are some ways in which you can switch from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset:

  • Practice Attitude of Gratitude

When you start practicing gratitude, you start acknowledging the resources in your life. You start to identify aspects of your life that you had previously ignored. Your mood and attitude start to shift from only seeing the negatives to identify the positives in your life.

Practice: Start daily gratitude, journaling. Every day you wake up to make it a practice to journal one thing in your life that you’re grateful for. It could be as negligible as a good night’s sleep,  the texture of your hair, the color of your skin, the gift of life, anything. Start identifying something to be grateful for. Daily.

  • Give Yourself Millionaire Experience

To help yourself to have a taste of what life has to offer, start to treat yourself to what Bedros Keuilian and Craig Ballantyne of empire podcast call the millionaire experience. These are little luxurious experiences that you usually wouldn’t do. They could be flying first class. Or going for a cup of coffee at a five-star hotel and so on.

The millionaire experiences open up your mind to all the luxuries you block yourself from getting when you think and play small. They motivate you to start thinking of all the possibilities if you thought and acted BIG.

Practice: “Give yourself a millionaire experience. Touch it, Taste it, smell it, feel it, and enjoy it. Do you want some more of it? Go F*ing make some money!!!” Bedros Keuilian

  • Hangout with the people with an abundance mindset

According to motivational speaker, Jom Rohn, You’re the average of the top five people you spend most of your time with.  These people influence how you think, behave, and ultimate your results in life.

Also, according to a Social Psychologist Dr. David Mclleland of Harvard university, the people you habitually spend your time with will determine up to 95 percent of whether you succeed or fail in life.

Therefore, if you’re struggling with a scarcity mentality, chances are, the people you spend most of your time with are also living in a scarcity mindset. So, change the people you associate with. Or, as a coach friend of mine would say: change rooms!

There are plenty of ways in which you can train your mind to embrace the abundance mindset. Practicing these three habits will help you to start seeing the abundance there is in life. They will open your eyes to all life has to offer.
